Welcome to the web site of the Indonesia Human Rights Committee.We are an Auckland-based solidarity organisation which aims to build links between people of New Zealand and Indonesia by distributing information and by organising activities such as letter writing and petition campaigns, meetings, film showings and tours of visiting activists.

16 October, 2007 - Sanctions needed to punish brutal junta
New Zealand has strongly condemned the Myanmar military junta's brutal crackdown, but words are not enough.Aung San Suu Kyi and the pro-democracy movement have been calling for foreign companies not to invest in Myanmar - formerly Burma - because of the role foreign investment plays in perpetuating the dictatorship.

9 October, 2007 - Time for West Papua to come in from the cold at the Pacific Islands Forum
The Indonesia Human Rights Committee is urging the New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark to advocate for the people of West Papua at the Pacific Islands Forum when it meets next week. This appeal is backed by other NGOs, including Pax Christi. Peace Movement Aotearoa and Christian World Service.Read Full Article
